Our Work

At ASAAP, we provide culturally responsive, holistic health and support services for SAMEIC (South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Indo-Caribbean) communities who are living with, at risk of, or affected by HIV and related health conditions.

With over 35 years of experience, ASAAP began as a grassroots organization and continues to be deeply rooted in community-led care and advocacy. Our work is rooted in equity, dignity, and community care, ensuring that individuals can access services free from stigma and discrimination.

"Over

1,000 individuals

supported each year in moments that really matter."

Health Education Services

We provide culturally informed sexual health education, including information on HIV and STI prevention, testing, and management. Our outreach includes workshops, community sessions, and access to safer sex supplies such as condoms, dental dams, and lube.

Support Services

We offer confidential, community-centered support for individuals living with, at risk of, or affected by HIV. This includes care navigation, referrals, and connections to healthcare and social services, always grounded in cultural understanding and respect for privacy.

"Moving to Canada was overwhelming, especially trying to understand systems and find support. ASAAP helped me settle in, connect with resources, and even supported my mental health. It felt like having a community when I had no one."

Settlement Services

Our settlement program supports newcomers to Canada, particularly SAMEIC individuals who identify as LGBTQIA and/or are living with HIV. We provide one-on-one support, workshops, referrals, and access to free in-house mental health support, helping clients navigate life in Canada with confidence and care.

04

Harm Reduction Services

We are committed to creating safer communities by providing essential harm reduction supplies, including naloxone kits, HIV self-testing kits, safer drug use supplies, and sexual health resources. Our goal is to ensure that individuals have access to the tools they need to stay safe and informed.

"I didn’t know where to go for safe supplies or information. ASAAP made it accessible and stigma-free. They treated me with respect and gave me what I needed to stay safe. That made a big difference in my life."
