Workshops - HIV/AIDS 101: These interactive workshops provide information about HIV/AIDS, modes of transmission, how to protect oneself and others. They also address community denial, homophobia, sexism, etc., from a culturally and linguistically appropriate perspective. STD information can also be included if requested. ASAAP delivers workshops at the invitation of a group or organization as well as organizes them independently. Presentations-Usually at the invitation of some community, health care or educational organization South Asian Media. Our workshops are also presented in several South Asian languages including Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati and Tamil.

Unlearning Homophobia Workshops: Homophobia is the fear or contempt for gays and lesbians as well as behaviour based on such a feeling. There is growing documented evidence that the experience of homophobia pre-disposes gay, bisexual, trans persons and other MSM (men who have sex with other men) to risk-taking sexual behavior that in turn makes this group vulnerable to HIV infection.

ASAAP’s Unlearning Homophobia workshop; which focuses on homophobia towards the LGBTTQQ2S communities, is conducted internally to our staff and volunteers, as well as externally to the community. This includes high schools, universities, community events, community groups, other service providers as well as any individual or groups of people interested in this workshop.
